Master in Product Design
The Domus Academy Master program (11 month program) is an exploration of research and design experiences.

Program Philosophy: Domus Academy’s Master in Product Design program aims to teach students not only how to design, but also and above all why to design. Students are encouraged both to solve problems and to pose them in order to further develop their capacity for critical thinking and decision-making. They will study and analyze the forms, icons, and images of various products and will ultimately develop their own personal expressive language. The goal of DA’s Master in Product Design is to teach students to integrate design itself into a broader project that takes into consideration advertisement, distribution, corporate identity, and the relationship with the consumer.

Program Structure: Students will attend lectures, but they will also spend a significant amount of time outside the classroom. They will visit companies and museums, meet with industrial managers, and visit and participate in exhibitions and fairs in order to have direct experience with the people and places that make Milan the design center of the world. Students will also regularly attend workshops in which the diverse skills and backgrounds of program participants will help them learn to work as a team and to enrich each other’s ideas and experiences. The culmination of the students’ learning experience will be the master’s thesis. Students will approach their theses as they would a project that they would ultimately enter in a competition, and they will execute their projects under the guidance of both professors and designers.
