Master in Business Design
The Domus Academy Master of Business Design (13 month program) is a creative format of the Master in Business Administration and Innovation which proposes new, intense relations between the world of business and the world of design. This program is offered in collaboration with SDA Bocconi School of Management.
Program Philosophy: The Master in Business Design goes beyond the traditional MBA and represents a new frontier in which designers and experts in corporate enterprise, communications, marketing, and entrepreneurship come together to form a new strategic language. It explores the influence that enterprise and creativity have on one another. Yet again, students learn by “doing,” not by simply listening. The MBD thrives on its collaboration with world-renowned companies whose members actively contribute to the students’ learning experiences. The goal of the program is ultimately to teach students to be creative but also organized and to provide them with the ideas and ability needed to successfully manage a design-driven company, that is, a company that uses innovative visions to create successful corporate strategies. Most importantly, the MBD program aims to teach students to optimize the characteristics and success of the “Made in Italy” phenomenon.
Program Structure: The program is comprised of four segments: Creative Value and Product Analysis, Strategy and Market Analysis, Creativity Management and Product Design, and Strategic Vision and Marketing Design. At the end of each, Domus Academy will hold a conference, open to participants in the fields of industry, business, and design. Once students have completed all four parts of the program, they will begin to focus in depth on specific aspects of the business world by having meetings and discussions with business professionals. The information they gather during this period will provide them with invaluable material for the final thesis project, which will be presented before the examining committee during the final exam. At the end of the program, all master’s projects will be put on display at an exhibit open to journalists and the general public.
