Master in Accessories Design
This Domus Academy Master program (11 month program) offers an in-depth investigation of the Accessories field, focusing on all that revolves around clothing and people, elements that are different in their nature, but at the same time part of a specific system: the Fashion System.

Program Philosophy: According to Domus Academy, accessories are not simply an afterthought but an integral part of an outfit and, more importantly, of fashion design itself. In fact, DA’s Masters in Accessories Design and Fashion Design share many common elements. The Master in Fashion Design has always concentrated on all components of the fashion sector, and accessories have an increasingly significant place in that sector. Since it is located in Milan, DA’s accessories design program allows students to have direct contact with the most important events in the accessories world. This program, as all other DA master’s programs, considers direct collaboration with major designers an essential component of students’ experiences.

Program Structure: During the first months of the program, students learn about the primary concepts of the fashion sector. They follow the fundamental courses of the Fashion Department—psychology, anthropology, socio-economic forecasting, marketing and management, contemporary art—in order to gain an integrated, wide-ranging understanding of all elements of the field. In late spring, program participants begin to focus more exclusively on accessories, attending workshops and seminars specifically dedicated to elements of accessories design, including graphic representation, materials, and design culture, as well as bags, jewelry, and intimate wear. During this part of the program, students will collaborate on projects with major companies; those projects will then serve as reference points for the final thesis project, to which students will dedicate themselves from September on.
