The DA Semester program in Business Design is not just another program in study abroad. It is an experience of learning and doing. DA’s solid reputation as an educational institution and as an active “researcher” and “designer” allows for an excellent hands-on learning opportunity in the business end of creativity.
The course focuses on the “Made in Italy” model and the ins and outs of the Italian business model where art becomes product design which in turn becomes a business and how that creative expression upholds certain fundamental ideals of fine design and craftsmanship. So by understanding the context in which products are conceived in Italy helps to understand its different contemporary forms of art and creativity.
The last course is the program's most challenging most rewarding course. By applying what you’ve learned to a special project, students will have the opportunity to launch their own business idea and then develop the plan as if they were doing this same type of work from inside a company or as self-made entrepreneurs. With pros from the field the feedback is real and the results can be fruitful.
After an experience like this, you’ll understand why having Domus Academy—one of Business Week’s Top 60 Design Schools of the World—on your curriculum vitae/résumé makes quite a good impression.
Requirements: this program is recommended for 3rd year University students.
